The Mudiya Purnima festival is dedicated to Srila Sanatana Goswami. Mudiya Purnima, is a disappearance day festival of Sanatana Goswami. In ISKCON, Mudiay Purnima is typically celebrated by offering kirtan (devotional singing), prayers and glorification of Sanatana Goswami. The disappearance of Sanatana Goswami is celebrated by Braj wasis and followers of Sanatana Goswami by doing Mundana (Shaving off the head) and offering parikrama to Giri Goverdhana.
Mudiya Purnima is as significant day as Guru Purnima in the Vedic tradition where disciples express their gratitude and reverence towards their spiritual masters. On this day, disciples gather to honour and appreciate the guidance and teachings of their spiritual master and offer services to the spiritual masters. It is a time for reflection, introspection, and deepening one's connection to the guru-disciple relationship.
